Meeting called to order by Vice President Mary McKinley. Treasurer’s note reported $600 in the treasury. Secretary didn’t have fall meeting minutes. (minutes from fall are on the News page of our web site)

Penny Baker introduced new member Kinze Wiley to the group.

OLD BUSINESS: Discussed 2009 banquet. Thanks to Lorraine and her family as well as Texas Roadhouse Lima OH for catering the food.

Discussion was made over progress of the spring show. It was noted that we have raised $600 of our $1400 need for money to cover our show’s added money.

NEW BUSINESS: Teresa Quay brought up the fact that she found it difficult to get to OGBRA’s web site and noted that others may have same problem.  She suggested buying our domain name www.ogbra.com. She will look into the costs and feasibility, as well as how to update it.

Jan Colson brought up the fact that we need a membership drive OR what can we do to bring in new members. Amy Bair discussed putting our membership form in places like the Horsemen’s Corral.  Teresa Quay thought it would make it more interesting to people if we had pics from the banquet on our web site. Members discussed that current members should think about promoting OGBRA to their friends.

Mary McKinley discussed the progress she is making on the 2010 banquet. Lorraine Ruppert suggested that the request letters for donations should be sent out as well as, she had more info to give Mary. Jan Colson noted that usually company donations are budgeted, sometimes the first to ask get donations. Jan Colson noted that letters need sent out now.  Mary McKinley asked the group to look for possible places to have the banquet.

Lorraine Ruppert brought tub with match equipment to review if we wanted to keep them. It was agreed to keep current equipment.

Penny Baker asked if we were going to send a team to Iowa this year. Midwest Matches are 3rd weekend in October. Teresa Quay said that we usually make a list of people interested and decide that later in the year. Members should think about whether they are interested.

Teresa Quay & Amy Bair discussed having a silent auction at the spring show.  We are looking for someone to handle that????

Discussion was made over having pee wees do a bake sale. We will need to check with Chris Zehender to see if she has that in her plans.  The group felt that this would be an easy money maker for them.

Lorraine Ruppert offered her popcorn machine as a money maker. The group discussed possibly having a coffee maker. Lorraine will look into hers.

Meeting was adjourned at 4:30.

After the meeting discussion:

The group talked about having a 50/50 drawing at the spring show. This would be easy money and we would split this with pee wee. The membership should note that everyone should take part in this. Tickets will be in the office available to whoever can handle this. Someone need to take the initiative.

The group discussed having a raffle with items to be given away like a saddle, Teresa Quay offered ½ breeding fee to her stud, bling bridle, roll out awning (from Total Service Center), or/and a moped.  Membership should look into possible items we could do. The group thought this was something we should do and could be drawn at New Years show. We need someone to put this together.
